Now, all eyes are on SAP to see how it goes about integrating the raft of Business Objects products it has acquired into its already ample portfolio. The early signs are encouraging as SAP has already committed to the continued development of many Business Objects products including Crystal Reports (covered in a separate review) and WebIntelligence. While we see the Enterprise XI platform as one of the leading enterprise BI platforms on the market, it is by no means perfect. This warts-and-all review reveals the strengths, as well as the shortcomings, of BusinessObjects XI release 3 and considers the likely impact of SAP ownership on the future prospects for the suite. The review also includes a factbase containing a concise feature-by-feature analysis and scoring of WebIntelligence, Voyager and Crystal Reports.
