From its beginnings as a SAP interface in the early Nineties, this product has evolved into one of the most versatile web-based OLAP applications around, with a strong presence in the US market as well as in Europe. This product review provides a detailed account of where arcplan's product excels - including its strength as an application builder with far greater flexibility for creating customized applications than many other OLAP tools. It also tells you where it lags behind other OLAP tools - for example, in its limited out-of-the-box reporting features, off-line capabilities and mobile device support. This means that if you are looking for a client tool that supports exceptional ad hoc views of multidimensional data and advanced visualisation features, then arcplan Enterprise is unlikely to come at the top of your shortlist. However, its growing US client base shows that it has established a significant presence in the market for solutions that play to its considerable strengths.
